Carl Cox releases first album in over a decade, ‘Electronic Generations’

Carl Cox has released his first album in over a decade, ‘Electronic Generations’.

Originally announced in June and given a September release date, the album was ultimately delayed until today’s date. He’s described the record as “a little bit of a window or showcase of what the sound of techno is from today’s point of view,” adding that “from my point of view, this is my offering”.

He continued: “I could be complacent and just stick to what I already do but I can’t do that. I have to go out, I have to drag my gear around, I have to set it up, I have to get a soundcheck, I have to make sure that when I do come on, it’s intense. It’s where I should be, where I need to be right now for me to be fulfilled in my position of who I am as a DJ and an artist.”

‘Electronic Generations’ is made up of 17 solo tracks, as well as a bonus disc of collaborations and other material that includes contributions from Fatboy Slim, Franky Wah, Nicole Moudaber, and Chase & Status, among others.

In October, Cox previewed the new album with the ‘Welcome To My World’ EP.
