Exciting News: Spotify Set to Introduce Premium Upgrade in 2023!
According to Bloomberg’s latest report, Spotify is gearing up to unveil a deluxe subscription service called ‘Supremium’ by the end of the year. This highly anticipated upgrade will offer HiFi audio quality and expanded access to audiobooks, immersing users in a premium audio experience like never before.
International users will be the first to enjoy the ‘Supremium’ service, as sources within Spotify have revealed to Bloomberg. With this exclusive plan, users can unlock a host of new features, but at a slightly higher price point.
Stay tuned for more updates on Spotify’s upcoming ‘Supremium’ and get ready to elevate your audio journey to new heights.
Spotify’s promised feature of lossless HiFi audio quality, known as Spotify Connect, has not yet been made available despite the announcement made in February 2021. Meanwhile, Apple Music and Amazon Music, Spotify’s biggest competitors, already offer HiFi audio playback for free. Bloomberg has reported that instead of selling audiobook titles individually, Spotify plans to offer an expanded selection of audiobooks.
Users with a ‘Premium’ subscription will have a limited number of free hours or titles each month. Gustav Söderström, Spotify’s co-president, explained that the delay was due to changes in the industry, but assured that HiFi is still coming.
The pricing for additional premium options has not been finalized, although a survey suggested a potential cost of $19.99 per month. Söderström emphasized the need for a cost-effective approach for both the company and its listeners. Unfortunately, he could not provide further details regarding label agreements or industry practices.
