Buckle up, music aficionados! TikTok, in collaboration with Billboard, has just rolled out its sizzling Top 50 Charts. These charts are the ultimate barometer to gauge the hottest tracks on the social media giant based on creation stats, video viewership and the level of user interaction.
Introducing a game-changer in the music sphere, the TikTok Billboard Top 50 is the first-ever chart dedicated to tracking the musical pulse of TikTok users. And while it’s currently setting the rhythm for the US music scene, leading the dance is Sexyy Red with her jam ‘SkeeYee’ claiming the prime position.
From the hip-shaking beats of Doja Cat’s ‘Paint The Town Red’ to the mellow vibes of Taylor Swift’s ‘August’ and the catchy hooks of Ice Spice’s ‘Deli’ – these charts, which undergo a refresh every week, have it all.
Remember the whirlwind resurgence of Kate Bush’s 1985 classic ‘Running Up That Hill’? Not only did it race to No. 1 in the UK charts last year, but it also got a mega boost from Netflix’s Stranger Things and, of course, TikTok.
Ole Obermann, the maestro behind Music Business Development at TikTok, shared “TikTok is undeniably a global sensation for musical finds and promotions. Every week, our vibrant community of music enthusiasts propels tracks onto the prestigious Billboard charts.”
Continuing, he mentioned “Aligning with Billboard to craft the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart was a no-brainer. This chart unveils the true essence of what’s getting the nods and plays on TikTok and the ripple effects it creates on other platforms.”
